Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood Just Got Merrier
Universal Studios Hollywood has kicked off their holiday celebrations now through Dec. 29! This year, The Entertainment Capital of L.A. has rolled out the red carpet for guests to experience a festive holiday season with special holiday treats, glamorous decorations, and entertaining shows that any grinch would love to see. Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood is even more merrier than before with shows being offered every day of the week!*
“Grinchmas”
Join all the Whos in Who-ville for a festive Who-bilation as they celebrate “Grinchmas.” The brand new Seuss inspired “Grinchmas” tree standing 55 feet high will astonish guests by not only how unique the tree is, but by how beautifully decorated it is with thousands of LED lights choreographed to beloved holiday music!
This Who-tastic celebration was inspired by Ron Howard’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas and guests who love this beloved film can even see physical props from the motion picture throughout Who-ville along with one of a kind Whos that are happy to greet guests and talk about Who-ville.
Shows
At night, find a great spot to watch the “Grinchmas” Tree lighting as the Grinch, Cindy Lou, Martha May, and the Mayor light up the tree along with their fellow Whos and experience a Who-lebration you will never forget. After the tree is lit, a whimsical snow flurry fills the air while Kelly Clarkson’s “Underneath the Tree” plays for everyone to hear. It is definitely a great song that fills your heart with yuletide glee and makes you want to dance around in the snow. Listening to this song play after the tree lighting is one of my favorite parts of “Grinchmas.”
Photo Opportunities
All over Who-ville guests can meet with local Whos like Martha May, The Mayor of Who-ville, and you may even catch Cindy Lou skipping around wishing guests a very Happy Who-iday.
Guests can meet, Max, The Grinch’s faithful sidekick and we can’t forget the main man who started this all, The Grinch, will have a dedicated queue for all his adoring fans to line up to take pictures with him.
Specialty Foods and Merchandise
Grinchmas themed merchandise will be available for purchase along with specialty food and beverages in Who-ville. It can get awfully chilly visiting this snowflake so be sure to check out some of their seasonal hot beverages like the Peppermint Hot Chocolate with a peppermint marshmallow. Maybe you’d rather have a delectable treat instead, there are quite a few delicious goodies to choose from like cookies, cupcakes, and even a Grinch Doughnut!
Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
As soon as guests walk into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter guests can feel the spirit of the holidays with all the enchanting decorations that are uniquely themed for each little shop. While you walk around Hogsmeade Village stop by the Butterbeer Cart to grab a nice warm cup of Hot Butterbeer, which is around just for the season.
Shows
The a capella Frog Choir made up of the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and their giant bass frogs will charm the guests who visit with holiday wizarding world-themed carols like “I Cast a Spell on Father Christmas” and “The Most Magical Yule Ball of All.” I’m sure Professor Flitwick is up in Hogwarts watching his students perform for all the visitors traveling through Hogsmeade.
Last and certainly not least is the dazzling nighttime projection spectacular that will have guests bewitched as “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle”* illuminates the Hogwarts castle with astonishing projections with music from the Harry Potter films.
Come join in and celebrate Holidays at Universal with your family and friends now until December 29.
