Running with Dinosaurs at Universal Studios Hollywood's Fun Run Weekend

Universal Studios Hollywood held their second Fun Run in the “Running Universal” series- The Jurassic World Run. This race was influenced by the new attraction “Jurassic World- The Ride” based off of the Jurassic World franchise. 

The race kicked off on Saturday, November 16 with the 5k race and the first ever 1k kids race called the Raptor Run. Then on Sunday, November 17, the race weekend came to a close with the 10k race. Participants of each run received a unique race finisher medal including a challenge medal for runners who participated in both the 5k and 10k race. Running Universal even hosted a virtual race where participants can walk or run from anywhere in the U.S. and earn a finisher medal. Virtual racers had three options to choose from for signing up; 5k, 10k, or Challenge (5k &10k).

At the Running Universal events, runners get to race through the Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park as well as parts of the famous Universal Backlot, guests will run through some classic Hollywood sets like War of the Worlds and 6 Points Texas, pass by Bates Motel from the movie Psycho (I hope Norman isn’t there), and you may even have an encounter with Jaws in Amity Island.

Picture cars from famous movies will even be on display like the famous gyrosphere from Jurassic World, cars from The Fast and the Furious movies, prehistoric vehicles from The Flintstones, and more.

The runners at this event showed their love for Jurassic Park and Jurassic World by showing off some creative outfits that everyone enjoyed. Racers even had the opportunity to show off their attire to Blue the Velociraptor, Juliet the Triceratops, and to the new baby Velociraptor. 

The next Running Universal event coming to Universal Studios Hollywood will be on April 26, 2020 and it will be featuring DreamWorks’ Trolls.
